(The Truth Untold)
Oh could you tell me
And I know
Don't smile on me
Light on me
You know that I can't
Show you ME
Give you ME
But I still want you
But I know
I’m so afraid
But I still want you
I still want you
And I still want you
But I still want you
But I still want you
And I still want you
Song references the Italian story of “La Citta di Smeraldo”.In the outskirts of this town, a man filled with an intense self hatred for his hideous appearance locks himself away in an old castle. He spends years in solitude with a closed heart, not opening it for anyone. The only thing he finds refuge in is tending to his flower garden — the flowers make him feel at peace despite his anger and loneliness.
Oh could you tell me이 정원에 ...:
Continuing the story of “La Citta di Smeraldo,” the man’s pursuit of isolation is destroyed when a girl dressed in ragged clothing begins stealing flowers from his garden. At first the man is furious about this, and he stays up countless nights to guard his garden, but never actually finds the courage to confront the girl due to his insecurity of his ugliness. However, as time progresses, he grows to be less angry and more curious. The girl routinely steals from his garden and with each visit he becomes more curious, and he finds himself waiting for her night to night to make sure she’s okay.
In the story of “La Citta di Smeraldo,” the man’s curiosity eventually gets the best of him and he follows the girl one night after she steals from his garden. Before doing this, he puts on a mask to hide his grotesque appearance. It’s important to note that it is this insecurity that stops him from reacting sooner, and it is this insecurity that causes him to wear the mask.
When in town, the man discovers that the girl lives in poverty and sells the flowers for money on the streets. He follows her multiple times and each time his longing to help the girl increases. However, his insecurities prevent him from truly confronting her.
Further referencing “La Citta di Smeraldo,” the man’s urge to help the girl inspires him to invent a new, unique flower for her to sell. He spends days creating this flower in hopes of it being able to make her more money. This flower is what’s now known as the smeraldo.
Concluding the story of “La Citta di Smeraldo,” the man goes into town to give the girl the smeraldo flower only to discover that he’s too late. While he was away creating the smeraldo, the girl had died from starvation. Distressed by the news, the man returns to his castle and regrets not confronting her sooner. Above all, however, he regrets letting his insecurity of his hideous appearance stop him from helping her. He poses the question of whether he would’ve been able to save her if he only had the courage to overcome his insecurities.
The entire La Citta di smeraldo story is an allegory for anyone who experiences the tragedy of letting their perception of themself prevent them from pursuing something they want in life.
Back when Bangtan debuted, they constantly questioned themselves and their ability to be successful in the Korean music industry. However, they didn’t let this anxiety hinder their efforts. Instead it inspired them to work harder and dedicate themselves further.

Ποιό είναι το όνομά σου;
Έχεις κάποιο μέρος να πας;
Oh θα μπορούσες να μου πεις;
Θα με αφήσεις και εσύ στο τέλος;
Θα ήταν όλα διαφορετικά τώρα;
