Kung Fu Winners Don’t Do Drugs
Standard evil guys dealing the opium, good guys have to stop them. Norman Chui is the baddie once again. I just saw the previous Begger Su movie which had Norman Chui as the baddie but a different baddie. It is this movie’s biggest problem, it is like so many other bad drug martial arts movies. It has some fun baddies with distorted voices, the big baddie often wears a demon mask but sadly doesn’t have the final fight in it. The martial arts is pretty standard, the melodrama is pretty standard, the whole movie has a functional but bland feel to it. It is very much a cookie cutter martial arts film. If I paid more attention I would have seen the edges of the cookie cutter in the film. It is okay but really feels generic and safe.
